[Hallicrafters] S-40a alignment

Dale,

My S-40A did the same and I finally decided that someone strung the 
bandspread dial backwards! It should be calibrated with the bandspread 
fully open - and that should read zero.

I haven't taken my front panel apart to restring it, it's only been 
about 5 years <g>!
