[Hallicrafters] SX-28 T2 Woes

   The 2nd. IF transformer, T2, wasn't behaving, in particular the top 
trim core
was hard to move. I used the trick of applying the tip of a soldering 
iron to it
for a while, to loosen it up, while working it to and from, and it 
seemed to work.
However, I think in the process I twisted some of the wires off, because 
afterwards
I got nothing through it.

Indeed, after extracting it from the chassis, and opening it up, it's 
not a pretty sight:

Is this too far gone to repair? What do you advise? Anybody have a spare?
