Hi folks,
my opinion about (epoxy) powder coating as a boatanchor restorer/collector as well as a motorcycle user/restorer is that you have to beware of the effects of the time.
Powder coated items I've seen become very dull and lost the initial smothness after some years (2-3), especially when exposed to the direct sunlight as the motorcycles frames, becoming quite rough to the fingers. The condition of the B.A. cases I've seen is not better, even if they are stored indoor. May be they tarnished a bit less, or say more slowly.
Also, beware of the distorsion caused by the heat required to cook the powder, enough to have twisted more than one motorcycle frame! I believe it can to the same to a radio case, even if it's less annoying.
Regards,
Thierry
