Unfortunately, Hallicrafters did not fuse a good
number of their receivers.  I definitely recommend
changing the power cord to a 3-wire and installing a
fuse in the black lead.

Radio Shack has some fuse holders available that can
be attached under the chassis using an existing
machine screw placement.  You will probably have to
install a slightly longer screw but should not have to
drill any holes.
