[Hallicrafters] SX-24 on "the site"

Hallicrafters always managed to offer the most  features for the least money. 
$69.50 (which included the PM-23 speaker too I  think) bought the SX-24; a 
real communications receiver with RF stage,  bandswitching, bandspread, crystal 
filter, and s-meter. For $99.50 you  could step up to the deluxe SX-25 version 
which added a second RF  stage and push-pull 6F6G audio. The all time bargain 
price leader had to be the  Hallicrafters S-20R. For $49.50 it featured an RF 
stage with bandswitching and  bandspread with weighted flywheel tuning. A 
three position tone control could be  thought of as a rudimentary selectivity 
control which added to the front  panel controls count and helped make for an 
impressive looking  package.
