Hi again Roger,

The SX-23 came out in 1939, so your estimate of 1940  for the picture would 
be accurate.  The SX-23 was a limited production  receiver and is quite rare 
today.  Most of the Hallicrafters receivers used  in the UK during the war were 
SX-28's which came out in 1940 and was a much  better receiver than the SX-23.

I have an SX-23 on my shelf waiting it's  turn on my work bench.  It is a 
unique and interesting receiver and I,too,  think that it's art deco design sets 
it off from anything else Hallicrafters  designed.
