Not camo, that's just too hokey.

US WW2 mil gear was black. After WW2, the Navy began
using battleship gray (I even have some ARC-5s that
were repainted during overhaul), the Army used OD
Green.

Deutsch WW2 gear was Field Gray, sort of a gray-green
at least for the cases; but many of the panels on
stuff I have seen were black.

Soviet bloc gear -- what I have seen anyway -- was an
icky yellowish-greenish-olivish color, not OD but not
"green" either.

You can buy paints in hobby stores that are intended
for armor or aircraft modeling, for all the "correct"
colors.

Have you ever seen a WW2 vintage No. 19 Mark II
Wireless Set? These were made in the US for use by
the British and also the Russians. They are VERY cool
with English and Russky lettering, which glows in the
dark! I took one of these to college, and listened to
Radio Moscow and Radio Havana on it, and also made it
a point to get up at 2 or 3 AM several nights to copy
CW maritime traffic lists from WCC or WLO -- lots of
call signs and 5-letter groups. I'd leave the papers
"carelessly" in my trash can. All this scared the
crap out of a roommate I did not like. He thought I
must be some kind of foreign agent, or maybe CIA, and
moved out!

Mission Accomplished.

Today I would probably be put under the jail and the
key th'owed away for a stunt like that.
