[Hallicrafters] Heinlein was a Halli Man

Hi, all,
I downloaded this photo and massaged it many ways with Photo Shop. I cannot
tell if this is an S38A or S38B. It is clear that it is a "4 knob, 3 slide
switch" S38?, the "A" or "B" suffix is not apparent, but it is definitely
not an S38, nor one of the later slide rule dial versions. I presently have
6 S38s, all no suffix letter, but over the years, since I bought my first
S38 from Concord Radio Corp. in Chicago in 1947, I have had at least one of
each of the earlier models, but never one of the slide rule dial models. I
can't tell if this is an " A" or "B" model, and I don't think it is possible
to make a definitive judgment as to its heritage.
