To all in the hallicrafters family.
50 years ago I got my start in electronics with an S-40. I have several of
each of the series as well as SX -42's and the 100 series. I am looking for
and an SM-40 S-Meter ddesigned to plug into the rear odf the S 40 series.
Can anyone help?

Both are beyond reasonable restoration. What do you need.

Great glowing grid dips! My Saturday Net post had enough typos in it to give
a spell checking program an infinity loop! When that post appeared and I
read it, I quickly checked both hands to see if I had lost a finger
somewhere! Fortunately not! But the keyboard had several keys sticking in
various positions other then "home row ready"! I pitched it in the trash and
got another cheap replacement out of the closet.
My apologies for inventing new words in that post!
