[Hallicrafters] vibrator how it works

I've seen this work both ways -- okay, and not okay.
Remember the vibrator gives a chopped DC output at
around 110-115 Hz. The vibrator transformers may not
have enough iron in the core to work properly at 60 Hz
input. The result is, they run hot. Very hot. How
long they last depends upon the individual
transformer.
