[Hallicrafters] vibrator how it works

Back in the late 1960's I was in need of a "work shop" radio out in my
garage. My search through the electronic debris turned up a 6VDC AM
radio out of a 1952 Oldsmobile (push pull 6V6's...great sound!). One
6.3 volt, 1O amp filament xformer did the trick. 110 volt winding was
wired up to a standard wall plug, the vibrator was removed from the
radio and the 6.3 VAC secondary was wired to the 6 volt input winding on
the power xformer on the radio. Worked for 15 years. Glenn mentioned
this approach in passing in his post but didn't describe the detail.
