[Hallicrafters] SX-71 Follow-Up (FM Band)

Thanks to the help of you folks, my SX-71 is doing well. Great set. Lots
of fun to DX with. I do, however, have a few questions:

1. The set has quite a few ceramic disks of .005. I've always thought
that these caps weathered the years well. Are any in this set known to
be troublesome? Do you folks change them out routinely as you would with
paper wax caps?

2. The FM band is dead. Per the alignment instructions, I ran a 54 mhz
signal through but got nothing (actually, my RF generator goes up only
to 20 mhz so I set it at 18 mhz hoping to get the third harmonic). Could
someone help me with troubleshooting the FM portion? Except for an SX-62
that worked on FM when I got it, I haven't worked on FM at all before.
