>From Joe in Okla. I want to thank all the members that have sent me emails
concerning the S-19R and the non running oscillator on band 4,16mc to 46mc
band. I have taken notes, tested and changed parts with no success. As a
last resort,I tested the windings on the oscillator coil with a accurate
ohms tester. I found the Osc coil measured zero ohms where as the tickler
coil measured 4 tenths ohms to 5 tenths ohms. I believe this is too much
resistance for the tickler coil, but what do I know? As the tickler coil is
hidden underneath the osc coil it cannot be seen for inspection. I would
still like to find another coil from a parts unit and see if that will fix
the problem? Although, I have received a couple of other email stating they
have experienced the same trouble and had no fix... If someone has a parts
unit,I would like to purchase a band four coil.. The band four coil stands
perpendicular by itself and has a trimmer capacitor across the top. It
mounts with two metal screws and is close to the band switch. It has 5
terminals,3 on the top and 2 on the bottom next to the chassis. You can
just clip each wire a little ways from each terminal and I will clean it
up... Please email me at w5jdy at cox.net if you can help me and I will
send you some cash.....Joe w5jdy reinventing the wheel in Norman Okla.
