Reminder......DO NOT try and balance it on the left side. It will fall over
and may damage the two IF cans on the left rear. It happened to mine but
before it came to Texas.

The top slug of T5 of my SX-88 run2, has the same type of slot as the
bottom one.

Thanks for the tip on the micas, they don't seem to be leaky, but I
will be replacing them while I have the subchassis still off. Yes, it
certainly is fun!

I'm in the process of restoring an SX-88 ... great fun.

Wwhen attempting to make the 2125khz and 1500Khz crystal activity
adjustments (top and bottom slugs of T5 on the 50Khz IF subchassis) I
noted
that the top slug of T5 didn't have an adjusting slot ... looking down
into
T5 only showed a smooth top of a slug. Interesting!

Maybe the slug was broken?
Maybe there was some sort of production change in which there is only one
adjustment?
(Messing with the bottom slug (2125Khz xtal) does affect the 1500Khz
adjustment as well)

Does anyone have any comments on this? I have removed the subchassis for
capacitor replacements (and by the way, if anyone does this be sure and
replace the 4 390pf mica caps as well as the black beauties - the micas
see
plate voltage on one side and in my receiver 3 of the four were very
leaky!) and before I reinstall it I want to determine if I need to mess
with T5.

Now, just in case, does anyone happen to have a T5 (or slugs) laying
around?
I would pay a king's ransom. Hi.

Thanks in advance!
