[Hallicrafters] IF Transformer Cores

Are the powdered iron cores in small IF transformers interchangeable between
different suppliers?  The basis of my question is this;

I have a Johnson Viking Invader that has a broken core in the IF transformer
of the 6AH6 9MHz amplifier. I happen to have 2 or 3 IF transformers from a
HT-37 6AH6 9MHz amplifier circuit.

Can I remove one of these cores and put it in the Invader transformer? Or,
could I use the HT-37 transformer to replace the Invader transformer? The
application is the same, plate of a 6AH6 9 MHz amplifier to the grid of a
mixer. The construction of the two is not the same. The HT-37 uses 56pf
capacitors to tune the windings while the Invader does not have any
capacitors.
