[Hallicrafters] SX-43 - more questions

Are you sure this "variable pot" in the transformer
isn't merely a switch to change the input voltage from
110 to 220 volts?  I have seen that on several Halli
(and other) transformers.  But a "pot" doesn't make a
lot of sense.
