Julian, I doubt you'll find anything on that transformer other than what 
you can deduce from its original use.  ("Wut's dat offa?" as they say at 
the auto parts counter.)  Palo Alto Engineering Company was H-P's owned 
transformer house.  It and other subsidiaries were folded back into H-P 
at the time of H-P's IPO.  There seems to be essentially no public tech 
info available on their products.  To determine whether or not you can 
use it I can suggest nothing besides reverse engineering the ratings 
from the original application.
