[Hallicrafters] EICO 950B Capacitance Resistance bridge

I just bought an Eico 950B resistance capacitance comparator bridge,, it 
needs a "comparator prototype or standard"?
Anyone familiar with this thing, and what is the comparator it needs? a 
known capacitance?

Bob, I have an EICO 950B. Built it probably in the sixties. You don't need a standard component to check capacitors. Just connect the leads to the binding posts on the right side. Be sure to observe polarity when connecting electrolytics. 

Select the range with the lower center knob and turn the upper dial until the "Magic Eye" opens.Read the value on the circular scale.
