The keyer is not Iambic.

Yup!
Sending something like a "C" is very different than with a late model
> iambic keyer.

The keyer was designed to work with a straight paddle such as the vibroplex
although I think there are other makes out there. For those us us who spent
years on the straight paddle we tend to use iambic paddles (squeeze keys) as
if they are a single paddle. I worked for weeks untill I could used the
Iambic properly. I was off the air for a few months and when I went back I
was right back to using it like the single paddle. If I concentrate I can
use it as a squeeze key, but as soon as I quit concentrating my body shifts
right back to single paddle mode. I finally gave up and use my Bencher as if
it were single paddle.
