[Hallicrafters] SX-100 Mods

Hello,

Have a question that I hope that someone can help me with. I acquired an 
SX-100. It has mostly been recapped, plays real bad, needs work. I tore 
it down for cleaning, etc. and found someone has added a tube. It is a 
6BH6. The installation is a pretty good job, ceramic socket, wiring 
looks almost original. I have not had time to trace it out yet. It is 
located in front of the sub-chassis, behind the tuning assembly. Does 
anyone know of this mod, where it might be documented?
