120 vac has been available aboard ships for quite some time.  Aboard USN
types, there is usually available, both 60 Hz, and 400 Hz.  Concerning
meters, yep!... VTVM's can be found at hamfests, et. al.  One of the FLUKE
70 series meters is also a good buy, as most folks want the fancy-schmanzy
ones, and you can get 70's cheaper.  BEWARE of off-brand meters, as some of
them do NOT have enough current for proper resistance measurements - ran
into this, doing Fire Alarm servicing.
