Please join us on Sunday March 26th as Hallicrafters Collectors
International enters its eighth year. Celebrate the 1098 consecutive Net
that W8DBF has been the NCS for. It has been a great run, with fantastic
participation, tremendous support and our family of 'it still goes glow in
the dark' devotees exhibiting a steady growth rate. This eighth year will be
different though, as all things change, nothing lasts forever. What better
time than the Summer solstice for the winds of change to breathe life into
the symbolic ashes of the fallen Phoenix and fan the faint flickering flame
of hope into a brilliant glow that transcends death and lifts the triumphant
torch of Hallicrafters high preserving the legend that shall forever glow.

There will be a very Special Event held on the weekend of Father's Day June
17th
 - 18th. It will commemorate the founding father of Hallicrafters William
Halligan, Sr., W9AC and the founding father of HCI Duane Fischer, W8DBF. A
special certificate will be issued to all who check into the W9WZE Founding
Fathers Day Salute.

The following weekend of June 24th - 25th will be the final HCI Nets with
W8DBF as the NCS. That Saturday 40 meter Net and the Sunday 20 meter Net
will be reserved for all of you to stop by and bid W8DBF your final 73's. He
will be retiring from the QTH.NET lists, the HCI web site and all Amateur
Radio NCS duties. However, until he is a SK he will remain on the air to
enjoy his many vintage radio friends. Details to be announced in May. Keep
the Special Event weekends open, circle them in hot Hallicrafters pink!

The HHRP rare Historic CD and DVD releases scheduled for late April, mid
July and possibly October will continue. Look for original text documents,
scarce original photos, Chuck Dachis audio presentation, special former
Chief Engineer Fritz Franke three CD series of never before seen personal
files, another 2.5 hours of live historic audio, a surprise video on DVD,
and much more. All orders will be taken in advance, see the HCI web site for
prices and ordering information.

Join us tomorrow for the pre-Net at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC) and the Net
proper at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC) The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/-
for key clicks, mike splatter andMartian space craft visiting the Earth with
robotic video crews to get a closer look at the Hubble space telescope that
keeps blinking a tired looking bloodshot blue eyeball at them! It is those
long fluttering eyelashes that really concern the Martians, according to
cryptic coded Martian radio transmissions intercepted by powerful parabolic
dish antennas somewhere around NORAD HQ inside Cheyenne mountain. NASA could
learn a few things from those Martians, as the robots they use do not eat
expensive high nutrient food, need expensive exercise equipment to stay in
shape or require a sewage treatment plant! Just some anti-corrosive
lubricant squirted under the armpits once a month, some synthetic oil
enriched with metal shavings for internal strong support structures and
strong sharp dentures to serve as wire cutters and torque wrenches. So if
you hear an odd humming sound on the frequency, it is not some broad band
EMF pollution, just scanners probing the Earth for a fast food self-service
station!

I hope to hear many of you tomorrow, so get your buns out of the recliner,
belly up to the radio desk and let's teach those Martians some new dialogue!
Now if I can just find that Star Trek term and galactic guide to grammer I
got on QVC thirty years ago ...
