Chuck even says in his book that he will buy any Hallicrafters he get
a chance to regardless if he already has several of those models. He
uses the extra radios as a source of spare parts for future
restoration projects. I would guess by now he must have a warehouse
full of spare parts radios.

If not for so-called hoarding, we never would have had the archival
joy of
Chuck Dachis' collection... or perhaps even this reflector, itself.
Speaking of that - I do have a "Spare" SX-62A, if somebody's
interested.
It's in Denver, and I have no box for it - hard enough to find one for
an
SX-71 that's been promised to RivPapa for some time.

The most recent instance I have heard of hoarding, is not radio related, but
automobile related.
I have heard of a guy who recent passed away. On his property were 46, 18
wheeler sized containers of New Old Stock (NOS) auto parts. Seemed the guy
suffered from OCD and would buy every part he could get his hands on. Been doing
it for many, many years. No one had a clue what he intended to do with these
parts, and I guess he didn't either!

Ah, human nature, ain't it grand!
