Use nylon coated steel fishing leader - SevenStrand is one brand.  I think 40
thousandths (or is it 40 pound test) is the diameter to look for.  There is an
online fishing supply that has it. Basspro used to but may not now.

About $7 per roll.  While you are at it, get the sleeves of the right size for
crimping a loop on the end.

 (my memory may be wrong on the diameter - I can come up with more complete
