Start looking for bad grounds in the affected
circuits. Especially look for bad solder joints --
yes, they did turn some out at the factory that have
gone bad over the years -- around tuning capacitors,
the cold ends of tank coils, around switched.

I had an SR-150 once that was "eat up" with these.
Finally had to shotgun a bunch of connections. My
trouble was in the VFO. Hope I don't ever have to go
in that direction again.... no longer own the radio
anyway.

You might try putting just a trace of some kind of
penetrant like PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench on any
riveted grounds. Just a trace! Do NOT spray it.
This stuff is potent and may eat dials, wax or plastic
insulation etc. But it will penetrate and break up
corrosion. Follow up later with a good contact
cleaner like De-Ox-It. Go easy with that too.
