beware, the maximum REVERSE voltage of the 1N4004's is of 400V and the maximum reverse voltage applied to the rectifier in an S27 is more than 500 volts. Go for 1N4006 or 1N4007 to keep a safety margin.

The original rectifier is a 5Z3.
