The rectifier (5U4?) stopped rectifying in my S-27. The filament is good, and
there is no gas in the tube. Can it be that the filament coating just gave up
the ghost rather suddenly? I've never experienced such a happening. I took
the chassis out of the cabinet thinking it was a blown series resistor or choke.
But no; it's the tube. An 80 makes it work, but can't handle the current very
long, so in go a couple of 1N4004's.
The comments on the R-96 were interesting.
