Hi Bob,
    If you want to see a great rundown on what to do in an SX-101(A), you
should get the 4 (+-) issues of ER mag. which contained the series by Ray
Osterwald on his complete refurb.  It's a great mag, you oughta subscribe,
but at least go & buy the back issues, they're well worth it.
