Had a similar experience but had to work with Citrus County Sheriff Dept. in
Florida.  The locals were told by the local DA that he wouldn't waste time
in any prosecution and they shouldn't waste their time.  This was "only a
small business deal gone bad".  I first spoke with the FLA folks directly
and they told me I would do better if I had a local law enforcement agency
contact them.  Obviously it didn't work.

I had purchased a speaker for $250 with $25 shipping.  It never showed.
However I filed with the bay place and received $175 from their process.
