[Hallicrafters] End of Story

My senior year at Georgia Tech I worked for Motorola
C&E (the two-way radio division at the time) out of
the Area 4 office in Forest Park, Georgia. The
comptroller had a sign on his desk that had
illegitimus and not illegitimi on it. However, the
English translation that was under it said "Don't let
the bastards get you down". I have seen quite a few
other signs printed the same way.

I told the comptroller about the "error" so he pasted
a piece of paper with an "i" on it over the "us". He
was a "stickler" for accuracy and didn't want his sign
to be incorrect.

Now the vice-president's secretary had a sign that
said "sexretary" on her desk. Now this was back in
1966, before the politically correct era. Frankly,
she wasn't that "sexy" but she thought she was. Can
you imagine all the furror that such a sign would
cause today?!!

Now as to the Roman Senators: I hadn't heard that
one! But, it definitely could be plural because there
are certainly more than one Senator that the "slogan"
applies to.

Well Glen, according to my spirit channeler, the
"original" quote WAS in the singular, referring to a
particularly Liberal Senator in the Roman government.
I think his name was either Kenneditrix or
Schumericus. So, I guess even in the ancient Roman
days, they were having trouble with Liberals, just
like we have today.
