The chassis is not galvanized.  It basically is the
same that all of the Hallicrafters receivers had. 
Mine looks the same finish as my SX-100 and S-85.

The shielding was Hallicrafters attempt at eliminating
TVI.

I was also going to ask whether all the shielding was
standard equipment but I think you have already
