Regarding the added cap in the SX-28:

Go to www.radioblvd.com, the web site for the Western
Historic Radio Museum.  You will find an article
titled "SX-28, a Pre-War Masterpiece."  

This article has a pretty good summary of the various
changes to the SX-28/28A over the production life,
some of which were either undocumented or not too well
documented.

I have not looked to see if this particular capacitor
is mentioned; but you may well find what you are
looking for here.

It also has information about other matters such as
serial numbers by estimated date, and the various
panel paint colors.

Those restoring an SX-28 should print this out and add
it to their store of reference material.
