[Hallicrafters] A NEAR MINT SX-28!

Case color etc:
Some years ago I was given an SX-28 that someone had decided to put min
tubes in. They had drilled out the octal sockets and floated 7 pin min
sockets in the holes. #&!! of a mess. Bottom line I parted it out.
The side angle supports had never been off the radio since it was assembled.
The outside portions that had been exposed to air were dirty dark wrinkle
gray with a slight hint of blue. The portions that had been protected by the
chassis and not been exposed to air etc for many years was a beautiful fine
wrinkle blue gray. Just like the cabinet on e(###).
I got them out this afternoon, they have been stored in UV proof bags in the
dark, and checked them again. Now that I have powder coat capabilities, I
may try to match the color.
As to a paint stripe on the chrome trim, I have 5 cabinets that I can see
immediately, and only 1 shows any sign of having been painted.
Thanx
