[Hallicrafters] SX-28A -dead

The SX28A, when brand new, never was that good on the higher bands.  I
had one that
I bought new and was disappointed in it's operation. I was happier with
the Hammarlund
HQ129X.  Much better receiver.  As a matter of fact I still have the
original manual and
factory shipping box for the SX28A.  You can see why the SX28A isn't that
good on the
higher bands by comparing the specs of the newer equipment with the
SX28A.  It is just
my opinion but I think it is a mistake to just go in and change every cap
and resistor trying 
to make it better.  It is never  going to be any better than when it was
new.
