Glen took the words right out of my mouth, or off my keyboard.
when you purchase paint they mix the pigments into the "white" base to get
the desire colors. Just purchase the base and tell them to forget the
colors. OTOH white usually is a poor choice and a slightly warmer "off
white" will make the place more comfortable. One problem with "white" is
fixing up areas. The white base will discolor with age, or it'll be
discolored by *stuff* in the air and particularly so in an area where people
smoke. Here the off white is much easier to match even if it's change a bit.
OTOH I've seen more than a few offices that needed brown to match what was
originally white.
