Hi Mark,
Wiggle the bandswitch. They're noted for getting dirty contacts, that
may be the only problem, particularly since it comes & goes. It sounds
like everything else is about normal.
The power xfmrs are notorious for shorting, and the Peter Dahl
replacement is a super one, I have one in my HT-32. It'll last forever.
You got a good deal with that in there, almost no matter what you paid.
