   Here's the scoop!

Last Saturday, I picked up a HT-37. The previous owner is now an SK.
Got it at the hamfest here, we fired it up at the hamfest, it loaded
up nicely on 40 CW. In fairly good shape, some dust inside...

Got the beast home, and had a couple of nice QSO's with it. On Monday
afternoon, I turned the rig onto standby. Then to MOX, where I tapped
the key and got about 70 watts out. Setting on the meter was slightly
below the "saturation level," as per the manual.

About 20 minutes later, I went back to the rig, tapped the key again,
and noticed an increase in power to about 90 or so watts out without
having adjusted the RF LEVEL knob after it sat on standby. I adjusted
the RF LEVEL back down to about 70 watts out. The next time the power
out was about 55 watts. Adjusted back up to 70 watts, put rig back on
Standby...came back to the rig about 30 minutes later and NO output.
   Nada.

There was no smoke, no other symptoms.

When I turn to MOX (and back to standby) I hear a relay click. I also
hear the CAL tone in my RCVR when I switch there, and also a tone when
I tap the key in the CW mode.

I do know this HT-37 is running a Peter W. Dahl power supply, so the
previous supply must have crisped out at one point.

   Any ideas?
Go easy on me, guys, I'm very new at this boatanchor stuff.

   tnx & 73

   Mark/AA0CX
