Yes and No. It's better than 1995 or 1998 data that I've seen floating
around. The 2002 data data can give you a reasonable trend in what's
"hot" in price or what people want to unload in big quantities. You could
probably spend a month reviewing current sale data around the selling
sites, maybe apply a factor, up or down, for inflation, demand, rarity,
etc. and probably bring the 2002 data closer to today's dollars. Unless
someone has more recent data on all this hardware, and has this desire to
want all this info, probably for cocktail or campfire discussions, it's
good enough for me. When I have "stuff" to sell, I generally price it to
sell either at the average posted on his chart or below. Worked very well
for me at Dayton this year. Valiant, CE 200V, Matchbox, R-390A,
SR160/ps/spk, HA-350, 2 Polycom's, SX-100, and several other pieces, were
gone the first 90 minutes I opened on Friday. Squeezing the last ounce of
blood from a sale is not my style.
