[Hallicrafters] Re Chuck Dachis Books

Hello All, 	
	
Let me call something to your attention in case you do not happen to be aware of
it.	
	
Chuck Dachis published two versions of "Radios By Hallicrafters", hence there
are two versions. All of the first book is contained in the second book, plus
more. Before you quote Chuck, be sure you are using the second edition. Some
material changed between the first and second editions, so if you are quoting
from his first edition, it may, or may not, be what the second edition says! 	
	
Most changes will be minor ones, but not all of them.	
	
Chuck is often considered as the "final word" on Hallicrafters, but he never
made such a claim. Nor does he want that perception of himself painted. While
chuck has a very nice collection, and an impressive variety of different
Hallicrafters items, he makes no pretense of knowing about every item or about
undocumented versions. He is first a 'collector', he never started out to be a
'historian'. But the books have helped him fund his collection and that home of
his must be something to see! I wonder where he finds room to sleep?	
	
If you do not have the book, and want to purchase it, just buy the second
edition. That is all you need.
