Maybe this applies or not. I've buffed out a few cabinets with a bit of
Brasso. This will work well if your cabinet is not severly scratched too
hell. It will clean up the case nicely and restore the finish. Don't rub
down too hard around the lettering as it's probably possible to rub it
right off with enough effort. Try it out on the part you might paint over.
