I acquired a small octal socket xtal oven made by the James Knights Co

(later called CTS Knights) designated as their model JK02. The thing was
made for Motorola back in the 50s and also bears a Motorola part number. On the
outside it says 6-24 volts.

Finding the xtal positions was no problem at all but I am at a loss as to how
to
determine the oven voltage connections.

1. Would 6-24 volts mean that it would work at either 6 or 24 volts or
anything in between as well ? And is it AC volts or DC volts or would it make a
difference?

2. There are 3 pins on the octal socket for the oven coil, pins 1,3,7. The
DC resistances between the pins are : 1-3 is 100 ohms. 1-7 is 100 ohms, and 3-7
is
6.5 ohms. How would you guess you would tie the pins together for whatever
voltages you needed to power the oven ? I am hoping I can use this thing on
12VAC.

Thoughts please !
