You've probably already heard this one bu a small jewellers screwdriver
driven down the side of the metal connector will tighten them up.
I also have a small tool that looks like a set of tube pins mounted in a
small diecast handle, on closer inspection with a magnifier the pins reveal
that they are actually slightly abrasive in nature.
The tool is inserted and removed several times in the tube socket,
brightening the connection metal.
I used it with great success with my SX-101 that was in a very weather
beaten state after being salvaged from the outback of Western Australia.
Keep a lookout for a website on this restoration.
