Terry,

There is an electronics parts store, Chester's Electronics, here in
Clearwater, FL where I live that has produced a piece of software called
Electronic Genius. It identifies components and their value. If you get
QST, it was written up in the latest issue, November 2005.

Go to www.electronicsgenius.com.

OK, so for those of us (meaning me) still working on comprehending
the intricacies and vagaries of radio listening, repairing, restoration
(already got the ADmiration part down), anyone know of a <cough>
Illustrated
Guide to Ye Olde Electronics Partes with Examples and Explanations (in
color)? So
as to be able to distinguish micas from non-micas, resistors from those old
round capacitor look-alikes, frabblejams for BC from doowockeys for SW...
And...uh...where Does someone obtain lightbulb grease?

Thanks!

 73, Terry
