Hi Bills, et al,
Bill K., are you saying that Krylon Dove Gray is a good one to use on
these?
I found the following in my stash of stuff on paints, sorry but I
don't know who it came from, I usually do save that info & give credit.
============
I (not W8UT) have also found that Krylon 3514 Stone Gray Satin is an
excellent match to the various SR series xcvrs, SX-117, HT-44, etc of the
circa 1960 decade. The satin finish looks good as the original was not
gloss. A light over spray restores the finish and preserves the original
speckle.
If you have a basket case and have to strip to bare aluminum and start
over,
"Spray Texture" by Homax, 1610 6th St., Bellingham, WA 98225 tel
1-800-729-9029, works good. Stand back about 3-4 ft and practice first!
I found the texture at the local Ace Hardware. Abt $10/can.
Also, Ace has an order system and will special order the Stone Gray Satin
Krylon paint. Abt $3/can, no charge for special order!
