[Hallicrafters] Two Questions on the SX-110

Hi Group
Question # 1
The Main tuning knob and the Bandspread are
identical and have the same part # in the manual.
One of mine is weighted and I can assure you it
came from the factory that way. Which one goes 
were ?

Question # 2
I am having a heck of a time re-stringing
the Bandspread dial. I get it to work one day
and the next day it slips. I've restrung many a
rig, but this one has me baffled. Does the string
go behind the idler , as I assume, or between the idler
and the front panel. Nothing in the manual even indicates
that the idler is there. Was this an add on? Looks
like factory to me. 
How about a picture if you have one opened up.
Driving me crazy.
