Hi Joe,

Thay 5Y3 swap seems to be a pretty popular mod for the S-20. I have seen
several thay way and I have one myself. The funny thing about mine is that I
didn't discover the mod until I got around to cleaning the insides. When I pulled
the "80," I was amazed to find that it had an octal base. Looking very hard, I
found that it was not an 80 but a 5Y3 with an 80 shaped bulb. I had never
seen that configuration before, but I guess the early 5Y3s looked that way. I
plan to leave it until it blows and them mod it back to OEM configuration.
