Please join us on Sunday November 20th for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International 20 meter Net. Before you go 'over the river and through the woods
to grandparent's house', think about that poor Turkey and the fowl fate that
awaits him on Thursday. Feeling guilty? Didn't think so!

The pre-Net will commence at 12:45 PM EST, (1745 UTC). The Net proper will begin
promptly at 1:15 PM EST, (1815 UTC), if I don't sneeze tomorrow, as I did last
Sunday, just as I touched the hands on my Braille watch to check the time, and
rip the blasted minute hand off! By the way, those raised dots on the watch are
not Braille! False advertising! Just raised bumps you feel and pretend they are
numbers!

The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and
adjacent gobbeldy gook from some featherless friends a few Hertz up the pecking
order! If you are not familiar with the 'pecking order', ask the chicken in the
old barnyard that looks as if he just did ten round with George Foreman! Now if
you are a Turkey and are last on the pecking order, dude, likek you have to wait
for every other Turkey to do everything before you do. Not good if you have a
weak bladder! But it is not all bad! Think about it. Because you are nearly
starved to death daily, you are so skinny that if you turn sideways and raise
your battle scarred beak you look like a broken zipper! Your beak looks like you
tried to kiss a high speed grinding wheel and what few feathers you still have
would not be enough to stuff a feather pillow for a baby Ant! But hang on, as
Thanksgiving is coming in five days. That day you won't have to wait for anyone
or anything, as you will be the only survivor because you did not get invited
for Thanksgiving dinner!

The rest of you turkeys, be there tomorrow! We want to hear your holiday plans,
as it helps us decide whom to surprise with a visit that oddly enough, coincides
with dinner! Warm up those wonders that still go glow in the dark and feel free
to cackle about how you bought a SX-88 that looked like it was just made
yesterday for only a hundred bucks! His name was Ernie and he just did not want
to lug that heavy thing home with him as the collapsed disks in his back were
killing him, right? Well it really was made yesterday! It is plaster soaked
paper with a lovely paint job and full of more Lead sinkers than you can use in
a lifetime of fishing! Enjoy! This one really is a boat anchor!
