[Hallicrafters] Oscillating SX-16

Joe,
 From your statements in your note, it sounds like your output audio 
amplifier is oscillating.  Check the tubes for failures, check all the 
capacitors for shorts or low conductivity,  check the resistors for 
proper value, and check the audio output transformer for shorts or 
opens..  Note that the shared cathode resistor for both tubes is mounted 
to the chassis in a metal frame near the tube sockets.
