I was deeply saddened this evening to receive news that my friend Richard
Jubanyik, KC2GSR had died on Saturday November 5th. I was contacted by Richard's
son, Michael. It is my understanding that there are several web sites carrying
stories and a biographical sketch of his life. I am for the most part off-line
presently until the new technology is installed this week. If Any of you know
the links, perhaps you can post them?
Richard was an avid Ham who absolutely loved the hobby. He also had an extensive
collection of Hallicrafters receivers that he cherished. Every single item was
appreciated and listened to on a regular basis. Along with the Hallicrafters
receivers, Richard also had a nice assortment of other vintage gear from table
radios to consoles to a jukebox. He took great care of each and had them fully
documented. His home was rapidly turning into a museum!
Richard was also the attorney for HCI and his wisdom and efforts will be sorely
missed. A brilliant man with a caring heart and good taste in radios too!
Good DX wherever you are at Richard and I hope to work you one day on the long
path -
Duane Fischer, W8DBF
