[Hallicrafters] FT-241 Crystal holder needed

You need a socket for an FT-243. The one for the
FT-241 is MUCH larger.

Now, the Globe Chief 90 and the Globe Chief 90A used
an octal socket mounted behind the panel. If your
Globe Chief has a "regular" FT-243 socket or if
someone has added an FT-241 socket, then that is NOT
original unless the transmitter is a Globe Chief
Deluxe.

I have a WRL Globe Chief 90A as part of the
re-creation of my original Novice Class station from
1959. I have also taken a look at some photos of the
Globe Chief 90. Both have the octal socket for the
crystal socket. You can see the machine screws that
hold the socket in place even though there are only
two holes spaced on 0.486 inch centers through the
panel.

Now, the Globe Chief Deluxe did use the brown single
type of crystal socket and not an octal socket. If
you have a Globe Chief Deluxe then what you need is
still an FT-243 single type of socket.

Needless to say, you need to be a little more specific
in identifying your transmitter. WRL made the Globe
Chief 90 and Globe Chief 90A both of which covered 160
through 10 meters. They also made the Globe Chief
Deluxe which covered 80 meters through 10 meters. All
three transmitters a pair of 807 tubes in the final
amplifier stage.

At least I think it's a 241.

What I need is the brown phenolic crystal holder that
goes on the front of a Globe Chief. The one that
holds the large crystals we used as Novices back in
the late 50's and early 60's. I'm setting up my old
Novice station and the crystal holder has a large
piece broken off. It still works though.
